Context & Challenge
In family businesses, generational succession is too often treated as a mere legal and financial transaction—an exercise in tax structuring and contract drafting. Yet the real fault lines rarely exist in spreadsheets: they live in family dynamics, identity, mutual expectations, and emotional readiness. Motmans & Partners wanted to address this critical conversation head-on, creating genuine authority in succession consulting without resorting to generic corporate advertisements.
The Strategy & Concept
We conceived 'De Troonopvolgers' (The Successors) as an ongoing reputation and community engine rather than a short-term campaign. The strategic premise was straightforward: if you want business families to trust you during their most pivotal moments of transition, you must already be part of their mental landscape long before the crisis arrives. The podcast serves as a public masterclass in leadership, empathy, and organizational clarity.
Execution & Action
We built 'De Troonopvolgers' as an iconic, recurring brand format anchored by Liesbeth Vandenrijt. We oversaw studio multi-cam production, sound design, and guest curation. From every episode, we extracted high-impact video highlights, thought-leadership quotes, and LinkedIn editorial posts tailored to provoke meaningful leadership discussions. The podcast quickly evolved from media content into a respected industry benchmark.
Results & Impact
Over 5 seasons and thousands of downloads, 'De Troonopvolgers' proved that thought leadership framed as authentic conversation beats superficial advertising every time. It positioned Motmans & Partners as the preeminent authority for family enterprise continuity across Flanders.
